Saint-Saëns, after the Carnival of the Animals: a pink flamingo in profile, head and neck embroidered in needle painting, from bold to powdery pink, a gold eye, a black and white beak. The plumage then unravels into painted feathers that dissolve into textured white, ridged like water. The bird is born from thread and vanishes into material.
