On a black canvas, a branch of golden flowers climbs on the diagonal: gold-thread petals worked with the Lunéville hook then varnished, stamens of dark beads, a stem embroidered in brown. The gold glitters grain by grain, as if frosted; the black around it gives nothing back. The flower become jewel, and the canvas its case.
